Can laser remove pigmentation?

Laser treatment is one of the most advanced treatments for removing unwanted pigmentation on the skin such as age spots, sun spots, and freckles. Skin Pigmentation Removal with Alexandrite 755nm is a quick, gentle and non-invasive treatment.

What happens after laser pigmentation removal?

Immediately after

Immediately post treatment you can expect to see some mild redness. You may also see some of your pigmentation spots (freckles) turn darker. This is normal and the pigment naturally shed off the skins surface within seven to 14 days depending on your skin cell turnover.

How long does pigmentation take to fade after laser?

4-6 weeks

Laser pigmentation removal works by eliminating pigment in the surface of the skin through the body's lymphatic system. Your pigmentation may darken, lighten, fade or even appear to have no change immediately post treatment. On average, it takes 4-6 weeks for your body to process the pigment.

How many laser sessions are needed for pigmentation?

With less aggressive/non-ablative treatments like the Candela Gentlelase 755nm and chemical peels, it is recommended that patients' do 3 treatments. With chemical peels for hyperpigmentation on the face, about 3-4 sessions will show desired results.

Does pigmentation come back after laser?

Pigmented lesions that have been removed will not return after your laser treatments. However, various factors such as aging, changes in hormone levels or UV exposure can stimulate new hyperpigmentation. Laser pigmentation removal treatments donot prevent new hyperpigmentation from occurring.
